For some reason I decided to make a bowl of Banana Pudding. It always reminds me of family get togethers and reunions.
I make this from scratch and no recipe. Have made it so many times over the years. I happened to have all of the ingredients needed.
Plan to share with the neighbor as well. Do you have a favorite family recipe that brings back good memories for you?

You can probably make this with your eyes closed - is this the Nilla Wafer dessert? My parent friend makes this too - brings back the feelings of childhood, she said. Can you believe I've never had this? There aren't really family recipes for me . . . but I guess strawberries with milk and sugar remind me of family dessert time in my childhood.

Yeah, goulash. I love the way my mother used to make it. I have asked her for the recipe a few times and she told me what she put in it. Barbecued ham is another one.

That looks nice and must be tasty.
We are into making cakes using instant cake mixes.
It is an exciting thing for us all to do.

That is great to know. We had a vanilla cake made from a pre-cake mix yesterday.

@CarolDM My Gramma used to make hermit cookies for my Dad, and he loved them.
I never knew quite why he loved them so much, if they were baked by such a sweet lady or because they were so awfully good.
My hubby and my Dad share similar tastes.
This winter I dug out Gramma's recipe for those cookies and my hubby loves it when I bake them for him.

I don't think I've ever made a single banana cake. I love fresh banana and I think it would be too sweet in my cakes.
Roasted chestnut reminds me of childhood. When we lived in Slovenia I ate it and whenever I smell roasted chestnuts, it takes me back to that time.
