Had to Shop Around

I love Diptyque candles and room sprays. They are luscious to say the least. However, my favorite store was out of them. Big hit I assume. So I looked on Amazon and Walmart. I couldn’t believe the prices, especially at Walmart. They wanted $38 more per bottle than anyone! So I went directly to the Diptyque website and bought them two days ago. Normal price and free standard shipping. They arrived in two days! It pays to shop around. This room spray smells divine! Going to check out their perfume and oils soon.

That's a shock Wal-Mart would be so expensive. I'm glad you got them at the regular price with free shipping.

@just4him I never shop at Walmart due to the owners although I did buy masks from them. Health is wealth and costly.

@DianneN I'm glad it did. I don't shop as much at Wal-Mart as I used to. I'm actually using the more expensive grocery store. It has all the alternatives for good health. And we all know eating healthy is expensive.

Sheesh - you'd have to wonder how a middle man like Amazon and Walmart could get away with upcharging it that much more - unbelievable. Well you were smart to go straight to the source. Do you have a favorite scent in that collection?

@DianneN Right. Whenever possible I try to support the businesses themselves . Hmmm, I wonder if they would send scent samples . . . I'm curious!

@much2say That’s the way to shop. I don’t know, but I could certainly ask. They were so nice, too. Btw, they give descriptions of the scents.

When I checked Amazon the next day, they dropped the price to the normal one, but tough tewies to them! I love the two to the right of my photo the most, but the others are awesome, too.

@DianneN I know. Companies can get away with upselling, because people won't try to shop around or know that if possible getting it direct from the source is cheeper.

Glad you could get what you wanted and I agree you have to shop around, I have mostly ordered from Amazon when there are some things I want but their prices seem to be going up and up.

@RasmaSandra I’ve never been to either. To be honest, I don’t mind spending more for food, but was fuming at what Walmart was charging for those sprays.

I've never heard of that brand before. Usually all I do is put out baking soda to soak up the kritter smells, Roscoe loves to sit in his water tub then I'll let him in and get a whiff of wet dog, not exactly pleasent.

Wet dog, even after a shampoo, was always stinky to me. Not so with a wet freshly licked cat.

There is one thing I noticed, expensive products must never been bought in cheap stores, you pay more there.

@DianneN I had a look once because I could not find something at my usual store, but I decided not to buy. As they do not sell them often, they are old.

Since the new owners took over here we are not allowed to light candles!!! I understand their logic--a couple of elders started fires in their apartment but......

interesting that Walmart wanted so much more. I wonder if that is a low selling item (they are all about volume)!

I’m sure it was old and dusty at Walmart. I can’t see too many Walmart shoppers spending that much money on a room deodorizer.
