Who came up with All the Signs in the 'Western' Zodiac? And How Did They Assign the Signs' Characteristics?

Microsoft Bing's suggested source-on-this doesn't specify any 'ancient astrologer,' but tells us that the Western Zodiac is based on ancient Babylonians' "writings" (or carvings in their ruins, or whatever archaeologists found there). https://horo.io/articles/signs/where-did-the-zodiac-signs-come-from#:~:text=Zodiac%20Division%20%20%20Sign%20%20%20Generally,%20%2020%20%208%20more%20rows%20
Of course, this same "source" also believes that 'the Western Horoscope shifted to introduce a 13th sign (Ophiuchus)'--going against what I've rehd elsewhere (that the birth-horoscope signs are just 'named after' constellations the Sun went through at the time they were first written, and have nothing to do with the stars as they are now (after eons of 'polar shift')).
And the personality-types that they assign to horoscopes ... I think those have to do with 'the weather patterns' (Water-signs for rainy seasons, Air-signs for windy seasons, etc.)
Have you heard anything about any of that?

I've heard other Christian ministers state that the horoscopes are another form of Idolatry.

@mythociate They are because they are man derived. The true Zodiac points the way to salvation. I have a biblical book on the Zodiac and the meaning behind each of the signs.

@just4him I'm also reminded of a key-Scripture:
"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"
