Fried towel

A lady ordered fried chicken in the popular fast food Jollibee but the person who ordered the chicken notice the weird texture when she took a bite.... Well it is not chicken, its a face towel. Yes the fry cook was so sleepy that he/she didnt notice he /she was breading a towel instead of a chicken cutlet. That said branch was closed down for 3 days. Do you have nightmare experience in fast foods and restaurants?

That is crazy! I hate to think how dirty that face towel may have been . . . and the other stuff that was cooked in that same batch of oil . Thank g I've never had such an experience - and since we haven't eat out since March 2020, I haven't had to think about it. I better not cook when I'm too sleepy .

Imagine a whole batch of chicken and potato fries were cooked on the same oil tha towel was fried it. The fry cook was fired and the branch was suspended for 3 days. the lady who ordered the chicken considers to sue if she doesn't get an apology because she was traumatized

@CaptAlbertWhisker Super gross, right? Well definitely the woman who found it is owed an apology - and that's minimally . . . I sure wouldn't eat there again!

@much2say Would you blame just the branch or the whole company as a total? Taco Bell and chipotle have thousands of food poisoning but they are still going strong

This had to be a horrifying experience even if the story is hilarious. I am sure the person who bit into this monstrosity did not find humor in it at the time, but will probably laugh about this down the road.

@CaptAlbertWhisker There are some here for sure, and people like them where they show up. The closest one to me is about four hours away. I have yet to eat at one, but if one ever pops up, I'd surely give it a go.

The woman ordered in midnight so that must be the reason why the frycook is too sleepy

@CaptAlbertWhisker Nothing justify something like that, if you are there to work at midnight you must do your work correctly... imagine doctors at the night shift, are they allowed to make mistakes because sleepy????

See this is why getting the right amount of sleep before your work shift is so important. I mean wow... I hope that woman got her order remade, and that employee CLEARLY needs a vacation.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Huh, that's a dang shame, but it makes sense in some respects.Good luck in her future endeavors, I guess.

Years ago, I remember a restaurant cook lost the end of his finger, and accidently served it in a big sandwich. I think that would turn me off from eating out forever. Fried towels don't sound tasty, even with seasoning.

@CaptAlbertWhisker she needs to be compensated. As in given a substantial monetary amount. The branch involved has been closed for three days so Jollibee can investigate the matter. The crew involved should be fired no doubt.

The said person must be really tired or distracted. When I stayed in the hostel before, one of the workers fried a frog and served with the rest of the fried chicken. Don't know how the frog get in there. On her defense, the fried chicken would be coated in red sauce afterwards so no one would notice there's a frog among the chicken. The person who found the frog was among the last person to eat that day.

To be fair with frogs, they tasted like chicken but that one doesn't sound like the frogs used for food purposes because people only eat frog legs. So it was a living frog that is probably poisonous who accidentally gets there.

I once found a piece of plastic in some food I'd ordered from somewhere. That's the worst I think. Most of my experiences aren't that bad. Though, I have to wonder, how did the towel not catch on fire?

@CaptAlbertWhisker I know, and it's amazing it didn't burst into flames and set the fryer on fire.

I guess it is because its covered in fried chicken batter. The towel was a rag use to wipe the table.

Be it was done unintentionally or could be sabotage no one knows. Better cook your own food.

@CaptAlbertWhisker exactly especially that most commercial food use a lot of artificial flavorings like MSG, even soy sauce is not good for some.
