June 2 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Satisfaction. That's what I'm thankful for right now.
You know all those voices in your head about what you would say if you had the guts to do so? I gave the office a piece of my mind today. I don't know when the last time I did that. I realized when I found the apartments I wanted to look at after hunting for them three times and calling them to find out where they were, that I can't rent anywhere. I don't earn enough. The manager told me that should Housing stop paying the rent portion, I would need to come up with the rent. That means my income would need to be four times the amount of the rent. With that realization, I filled out the lease renewal and read every word on all the pages, and got angrier the more I read. Rules and regs have definitely changed. I let them know how I felt about the lease and yes, I told them I want to move. I have the option of going month to month, but I'm not going to do that. One of the people in the office told me to stop being disrespectful or they would give me notice to move. I wasn't trying to be disrespectful. That's not who I am. I was so angry, it came bursting from me. I have no regrets. I feel a great satisfaction that the voices are silenced and I won't need to listen to what I would say if I had the guts to do so.
I'm thankful for the laid-back day. I was exhausted when I went to bed last night that I overslept today and didn't get to the Y. It was still a good day, and I'm planning to get my walk when I post this. I want to at least get 10K steps today. I'll be back at the pool tomorrow.
Okay, that's been my day. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I am grateful that the housing authority will send employees to fix the roof that suffered some damages from the recent storms that hit Lake Charles last month.

@just4him I am happy since I was fearful that my relatives and myself would have to move this summer.

I understand how you feel. I delt with similiar when I was renting. For the five years I also had housing assistance to pay my rent, too. It's not easy. I wish you the best of luck in your venture.

@just4him I did it for, five years. I understand.
I'm thankful that I beat George home today and found most of what I needed at the store today, too.

@wolfgirl569 I did when I went for my walk. I stopped in the office and told them I would change it to month-to-month. I picked up the new lease on my way back from my walk on the trail. It was a much easier encounter than yesterday. She even told me about an apartment complex close to here that could have availability. Great amenities, including a pool and fitness center.

I signed it yesterday, but I can change it to monthly, which I might do so if something does come available, I can move.

I am glad that you were able to get things off your chest with the management. I am sure it was very satisfying for you.
I am thankful I don't have to be anywhere for the next several days. I can stay home and relax. Have a blessed evening.

Thank you. I changed the lease to month-to-month so I can keep looking. The gal in the office I confronted yesterday even gave me an apartment complex close by that has great amenities, including a pool and fitness center. I'll give them a call later.

Totally understanding the situation. I have seen my closed ones facing it. Feels good seeing that u have said what u felt and not kept that thing within u which will definitely be a regret later.
