Today Is The Day That Doesn't Want To End

Time certainly flies; for the most part that is. Do you ever look at the clock and wonder where in the world the afternoon went?
That happens more often than not. Today, however, is a different story. For no particular reason, other than the fact that I may have gotten up earlier than usual, the day is just dragging along.
I'm not complaining, I don't mind the slow down. In fact, if I could, I wouldn't mind a slower pace more often.
I can hardly wait to see what tomorrow brings. How is you day going? Is it fast paced or more of an easy does it?

I don't even understand how time flies when I'm so busy at work

@LotusEyes They say that time flies when you're having fun. Maybe and hopefully you're having fun at work.

My day today is going rather slow now. I was busy but now just trying to catch up here.
Sometimes the time goes slow here.

@RebeccasFarm I'm enjoying my slow day. I'll have to try to do this again soon. There's nothing wrong with a little slow down.

My days are a little bit of both depending on where I'm working. If I'm cashiering it drags to some degree but if I'm washing windows or goes faster because I can move around. I'm rarely just at home but I still have a lot to get done so it rarely drags.

@MarshaMusselman Yes, the clientele of customers can make a difference for sure. When I worked in retail some years ago, there were longer shifts that seemed to fly by because I had a nice time with the customers.
Then there were other shifts, shorter hours but bigger headaches for one reason or another.

Yes, usually keeping busy at whatever it is you're doing makes the time go by quickly. I can see how cashiering can slow the time down.

@betlynfrnds it all depends on the day, the customers and out own moods,I think. I've had some days when the houses between breaks and lunches went quick while others didn't.

@DianneN I kind of figured that; especially from your recent posts.
We can relate. Sometimes we're kicking it in high gear and then when I find the brakes, I'm pumping them hard. No more need for speed.

Usually there is nothing wrong with taking your time. Haste makes waste.
Many times, going too fast can cause either mistakes or even injuries depending on what you are doing.
I think many people feel as you do: We don't seem to have the time to do all that we would like to do. You're in good company.

@betlynfrnds perhaps going fast there is a tendency to not remember what one is doing after. It happened to me quite a few times. Nowadays I try being mindful of what I’m doing and taking my time.

@meowch That is a very wise course to take. I find that when I take my time doing whatever I am doing, it seems as though I get done just as fast as I would if I were to rush through.

Just take things as they come along and add a little myLot to the mix. That's a pretty good recipe for a nice day.
This post is a little over 2 months old. As of late, all of my days are flying by very fast. It could be that my husband and I have been more busy than usual over the past few weeks.

@betlynfrnds Yes. It's true. When you are busy or engrossed with something, time will seem to fly faster. I hope you are having a good day!

That's a beautiful thought for sure. Life is a precious gift; one that we should never take for granted.
I hope your today is going well and that your tomorrow is even better.

My daughter, Pretty, and I started our day at 6 am with a nice walk around town. Then started mowing our yard, weeding our garden and flowerbed then watering everything. While she was cleaning up from mowing, I made our supper.
I've just fed my fishies and put them to bed. It was a nice day.

A nice day; productive yet relaxing. I like how you feed your fishes then put them to bed. How, exactly does that work?

@DaddyEvil Awwww, that is so sweet. . I would love to have a fish tank. My only concern would be that my cats may get either jealous or curious.
Either way, it could end in a disaster.

@betlynfrnds I have guppies and corydoras (a type of catfish). I feed them and talk to them while they eat and then shut their light off.

Thank you. I wish that I could say honestly that this occurs often but I can't lie.

When I'm trying to catch up on many chores I often wish time would stand still for awhile It is usually fast paced especially on the weekends when you would think one could chill out.

Oh, I know what you mean about being short on time when it comes to doing chores. Sometimes I feel as though I have an hour's worth of household work to accomplish and I only have 20 minutes to get it all completed.
