A teen mom.

On 1964, just 4 days before I turned 19, I gave birth to my first daughter.
My parents had told me not to get pregnant yet after I came back from our honeymoon. But all I wanted then, so naive, was to have a baby that looked exactly like my husband.
As it was, Tania is very much like her father as looks go and very much like me in temperament and personality. Claudia is exactly the other way around.
People here make often posts about what do we think about early pregnancies. I say it depends on the case and each situation is different.
I was a teen mother but was already in my second year of college. And my husband was older than me and a lot more mature.
Our family has lasted with close bonds in spite of all the problems and pains along the years.
What do you think about teen motherhood?

It happens whether you have your children at any time of your life.

@marguicha That is very true. Being a single parent was tough as well.

I had a teen pregnancy. My son was born six days before my 20th birthday. My daughter had a teen pregnancy. My youngest son was a teenager when he became a father. My granddaughter was shy of twenty by a couple of months when her daughter was born. I don't see anything wrong with it.
I'm glad you had a good marriage and have a close family.

As long as it is a welcomed baby and like in your case with a husband to help I see no problem with teen motherhood, The problems are when teens get pregnant and do not know what to do or cannot even think of supporting a baby. I am glad you have happy memories and can celebrate the happy event of so long ago with your daughter.I too was my father's daughter and resemble him greatly,

I was barely 18 when we married. I wasn't even a mature teenager, way too young to get married. I wasn't pregnant, so I'll never understand why my parents allowed it. I had our first child a year and a half later, just before I turned 20, so I was a teen mom also. But our children are blessings and we're still married all these years later. Grace of God. Literally.

Many people came to tell my parents how could they let me get married. But they said that it wasn´t something that parents could forbid unless the husband to be was a jerk which wasn´t my case. Both of my children were blessings to both of us.

@1creekgirl And on the other hand some marriages in the older part of our life can be mistakes too.

@marguicha It's wonderful to know you have a close family. Certainly not all teen marriages are a mistake.

@marguicha Being a young parent has its advantages, but I got divorced when my son was only a year old, so everything after that was very difficult for me.

I had my first and only child when I was 30. I was nearly 31 when he was born. I wish that I had him a bit earlier.

It was the norm In Asian societies during earlier times.
And they had many children.
It helped that most women did not have a working career then.
Now it s much ;later and most have one or two children only.
I think it depends on what we want from life.

My family expected a career and maybe (not necesarily) marriage and children later on. I fell in love and things changed.

I have mixed feelings. Many teens are not emotionally prepared to have children...some are. I always think it's better to wait a couple of years after getting married so that you can get to know your partner better. I'm glad things worked out for you.

Good to know. No idea. Still I feel it becomes burdensome at times because one isn't mature enough. Have a good day

I think being a mother is a very great thing, it's not easy being a mother let alone being a mother at a young age, I also really want to be a mother at a young age but until now I have not become a mother at the age of 27.
