I am from India and we have our own breakfasts. Though the bread butter , bread sandwiches, fruit juices etc are taken by the people, the popular breakfast in India are local dishes! We have Idli, Dosa, Umpa, Uttapam, Pancakes of various lentils are famous in Southern India. Chole Bhature, Samosa, Kachori etc are the popular breakfasts from Northern India. Alu poha, samosa, babtata vada, Bhel etc are the Breakfasts of central India. We have Dhokla, Khakra, jilebi and phapda in western part of India. Loochi and alu curry, Rasogolla, singhada are famouus in eastern part of India! Most of the times I think these breakfasts must be popular in other parts of the World! But my wife feels that these can't be the popular breakfasts in the World! This made me to think about the most popular breakfast of the World? Can you help me?

Those are surely not popular in this country and not even in Italy and in France where we lived many years. Our more popular breakfast are yogurt with berries, toasted bread with jam and butter, croissants, a soft boiled egg with sticks of bread. Here in Switzerland müesli is also very common, it is oatmeal with pieces of apples, some blueberries, and chopped nuts and hazelnuts.

Nice to know about the breakfasts you have in your country! Some breakfasts like Croissants are not even heard by me! Now a days Muesli is becoming popular in India though it is not native to us!

@LadyDuck , In India people are trying various exotic dishes apart from the traditional dishes and Musli is being tried by them! In fact we get ready to make sachets in the market!

Since Malaysia has mixed races, our food varies too. Chinese might like porridge or fried dough. Indian might like roti. Us, Malay might love rice or fritters.

Each country (or in this case section of a country) have their own favorite or more popular breakfasts. Here in America, I'd say the most common breakfasts would be bacon and eggs (or some kind of meat ) with eggs, pancakes and ceral.

So you also endorse eggs for breakfast! I know people like to have bakon, chicken in their breakfast! I think now a days people are avoiding cereal foods in the breakfast to avoid more calories! How often you have eggs in your break fast? By the way what was your breakfast to day you had?

I don't know if I will like your breakfast because our taste differs. I like smoked fish with tomatoes and fried rice

@AKRao24 For me your food may looks weird but it's normal there. Our food may seem weird to you too. Some Asian foods and western foods have become a part of our culture
