Not Her Best

The Ice Princess had her first competition as an Intermediate level US figure skater. My daughter-in-law only told me that it wasn’t her best skate. She did receive her second Pfizer shot earlier that day and has had no reactions thank goodness! Then she went off to one of many Bat Mitzvah parties. Kids! So happy and carefree!

It isn't important what her placement was. As long as she is enjoying it and having fun--that is all that is important. My cousin was on the path to super-high skating status and she just burned out. She trained with Michelle someone (Kwan???) who did get to the Olympics. My cousin gave it up way before that. It wasn't enjoyable for her.

You’re right and she knows that, too. Omg! Michelle Kwan? I loved her! If it’s not enjoyable, then your cousin was right to give it up. The IP trains with Olympic gold medalists. Even they had bad skating days.

Every skate can't be perfect. If she is having fun, that is what counts.

@kobesbuddy I agree. Every skater has good and bad days. Even her coaches had them. She learns from watching her videos. Besides, she just learned most of these new moves. It’s all good.

It is great how kids just go from one thing to another. It is good she didn't let the "bad" skate ruin the rest of her day.
