I still. Use curtain to provide privacy. I don't cover all windows. There are some I left without curtain to let light in. But then those windows that have curtains I use those with thin linen that still allow light but still I won't be seen from outside.
Those windows without curtain would get a glimpse from outside part of the house that I rarely go to. Usually some corner that I rarely need to walk to.
But the area on my living room where the sofa is where I sit and even lie on , I make sure there's a curtain on the window blocking the view to it.
And usually the neighbour doesn't like me accidentally looking at his window when I sit on my sofa. Where I can easily see straight out to my window to theira.
Privacy is usually lacking and a problem in the city with a neighbour/s too close.

Privacy is a thing that everyone want in their life . It is the time of being yourself .
I have my separate room with the curtains to all the windows and it helps me to keep my privacy

Are you blocking your neighbours on your windows. Outside the windows on my room is are walls of neighbor so no need for curtains in my room. But then I close window if I don't them to hear the noise from my house. They could over hear conversation. It is too close to the neighbours
