It's been while that we harvested this Kaong fruit or Sugar Palm here. It involves not a laborious task but I can say difficult in a way that the sap of its freshly cut fruit is very itchy on the skin. So better be careful when processing them. But the reward is absolutely delicious. Have you tried this already?

A bit chewy and nutty. It's tasteless but the preserve cooked in sugar is nice. It's an ingredient for the fruit salad here.

We would usually add this to shaved iced. It would also be called nau.

Kaong is good for halo-halo as well as fruit salad. Didn't know the processing of kaong is a laborious task. I must remember to pray for the people who prepares kaong every Christmas. My Christmas feast ain't complete without fruit salad.
