Google suspects that I am not 12 years old

I wanted to watch an old movie from Claude Chabrol on Youtube and I was sent to my Google account to confirm my age by entering a credit card number or sending an ID.
Looking at Wikipedia I saw that this movie was forbidden at the time to children under 12.
Damned ! They caught me, my Google account is only 10 years old !
Asking a CC number or an ID to watch a movie forbidden to under 12 years old kids is a lame excuse to get more data.
I have always refused to link a credit card to Google, and indeed I will never send an ID, they know already enough about me.
I am quite resourceful for a 10 years old, I have used a Youtube downloader to watch my movie. Google I got you ! I am going to watch a Disney cartoon now.

@LadyDuck I heard on the radio that he was flapped today. The author of this serious crime is in custody. France does not improve, compared to some EU countries, I don't think that putting in custody the author who is risking a 750 euros fee maximum and no jail will improve the reputation of my country. And now I read that his home has been searched, his girlfriend arrested and that the préfet is filling a complaint for "violence contre personne dépositaire de l'autorité publique". It cannot work, a flap is "violence légère", but it shows how this country is slightly leaving democracy. I don't excuse this guy, it is pure stupidity indeed.

@topffer Oh my goodness, that is a too extreme reaction to a goliardic action of someone who only wanted to show his disapproval. I agree that this is "violence légère", no need to put this man in jail, search his house and arrest his girlfriend, who did nothing at all for what I know.

And all these years on myLot I thought you were "at least" 13 .
I guess the honor system is not honorable anymore . Is it legal to even ask for such information? I wouldn't give any such information - CC only for purchases, not for ID purposes. I'm glad the kid got to watch his cartoon after all .

It is probably legal in France, due to a law from 2006 telling that providers should take all the measures needed to be sure that children cannot watch unappropriate content. Although it was targeting adult content, it does not tell it, so checking if somebody is at least 12 to view a content forbidden to under 12 is probably legal here, even if it was the first time that I was seeing that.
