Here is something most people don’t know about ferrets. Other then they are small, fast and there names refer to thieves.
Yes cats and dogs ferrets have breeds. The different marks of there breeds can tell a vet a lot about the ferret. Like if this type is more likely to have a shorter life span or could def.
I have three different types out of my four ferrets. I have a stable (Piper the very dark one), a sliver mitt (Casper bottom left picture sleeping) then I have two blazes (Howl and Sofie). Blaze ferrets typically change colors. How definitely changed color he is now more white Sofie her colors stayed.

Ferrets eat only meats. Most ferret owners either to an all meat kibble, or will do a raw diet which is fresh meats fishes and raw eggs.

I know ferrets but not as pets. I know them only as working animals so-to-speak.
My grandfather always had a ferret. It wasn't a pet, though. It was a working animal. It had to chase wild rabbits. It was kept in a cage in a shed in the yard...

@MALUSE they can catch anything smaller then them. They where at times actually used to find truffles. They like to take small things and hide them for people. They do not like living solo they are a grouping animals so the more the better. They dook when happy which is also called the wresle war dance. Also they technically can not be trained but if you repeat things then like putting a litter box on the same spot they will start using it over time.

I know they are cute, can smell and are sensitive. Have to watch the temps around them.

I have considered getting myself some ferrets for pets, but before I do; I need to learn more about ferrets. I don't want to be unprepared about them before I do.

That is very good. It’s always best to know how to properly take care of a ferret. Also it’s best to get them in pairs if you do a solo ferret you have to make sure you give them lots of attention if you can’t two so that way they always have company.
