No good news in my country.

Nobody can understand this climate anylonger, friends.
Today we are having waves over 10 meters high in the seashore. The damage they cause is as big as a tsunami. Worse still in some ways. Because tsunamies are usually made of a single giant wave and these waves have been going since last night.
What is worst still is that human beings are stupid. Many park their cars near the beach in spite of the signs. Others build their beautiful houses in the shore although laws say not to do it. And now, the less fortunated have a cell phone to go to the beach and take selfies until a bigger wave gets him/her.
I´ll check something better now. All this depresses me. It can all be avoided.

Oh no, that sounds terrible. Have many deaths occurred because of the stupid people taking selfies, or those that have built their homes so close to the seashore? Sounds scary to me. I would stay away until things settle down.

Humans can be quite stupid at times. Despite danger, they tend to think nothing will happen to them. Or, they just don't care. As my husband always says 'we all get that door prize eventually'.

Yup, you are right
all this could have been avoided.

Maybe they park their cars near the beach so they can make a quick getaway if a huge wave comes, LOL

I find that people do not read signs and do what they want. It is sad that people do not care what is right and do what is wrong.

Maybe that is a storm surges..
Storm surges are cause of heavy winds from the sea that pushes the water waves more than usual..
That happens here also..
i hope you guys are well

But if that is known to happen, people should not be so near.

@marguicha Yes.. You should have these alarm nearby whenever the sea level rises than usual..
just like the tsunami alarm, So that people near the shore are aware that there is a danger coming

This is always the stupidity of people that cause more deaths as compared to natural disaster
