I just saw on the HISTORY Channel a story about Genocide in Tulsa, Oklahoma ... an event that people born-&-raised in Tulsa didn't hear about in grade-school! https://www.history.com/topics/roaring-twenties/tulsa-race-massacre ... some shameful stuff we can talk about later---but the first thing is aNother historical fact I didn't know about. In Oklahoma, we're proud of our Five Civilized Tribes---tribes that I was under the impression were here when Europeans 'discovered' the land. And then I hear that 'the tribes' were MOVED to the area from the South when Europeans forced them out (the "Trail of Tears"?) Have you heard about such unbelievably huge events taking place in YOUR area's history without anyone ever mentioning it again?

I'm sure there are plenty, but I can't really recall much. Then again I don't know what happened to that book I had to write in midle school on my home state of Florida. I'm sure there are things in there that weren't in the history books.

it was probably eaten by one of your local crocodiles (or are there more 'alligators' there?)

@mythociate I think Fluffy moved on years ago. (The alagotor who decided to live in a pond in the middle of an apartment I used to live in). But, yeah.... we have both. Just not usually where I live. Fluffy surprised a lot of people.

Sad to know how those tribes have disappeared. When we speak or hear of America they are not even mentioned!

I KNOW! And CAPTAIN America ... the first one was a European one! That's fine, but do you think the next one was a 'Tribal' American (we call them Native Americans; but by definition one is Native if they were "born here," no matter WHERE our ancestors were from)? No! the MARVEL-people SKIPPED Tribal Americans and went straight to the SLAVES' children
