Toilet seat courtesy?

I really appreciate it if the toilet seat is down. What are your stand in this?

I definitely like the seat to be DOWN. I also like the lid down!

I hate it when men leave the seat up. I'd hate to guess how many times I've gone into the bathroom at night and come close to falling in because the seat was left up. I'm of the opinion that if men want to raise it, they can also lower it.

To me, compromise is the key.If both seat and lid are down, then both sexes must lift to go and put down when done. No one gets a suprise 'dunk' if only the seat is expected to be down in the middle of the night. :) Plus, it looks tidier with both down, to me.
