Our Baby is a Woman Now!

Our granddaughter turned 13 on Friday, and we were there to celebrate it with her other grandparents and family. Our older son had a barbecue and of course a birthday cake!
But she became a woman on Saturday at her Bat Mitzvah, a rite in the Jewish religion. We were so proud of how well she read Hebrew and performed each ritual and blessing alone and with the rabbi and cantor. It was held under a large white tent in the driveway and beautifully decorated. For those who couldn’t attend, the entire service was on Zoom.
Her immediate family had several parts in the service, too. Hubs and I read a blessing, our younger son “dressed” the Torah, and hubs did the blessings over the bread and wine. I was thankful he got them both right after weeks of practicing.
After the ceremony, we had a fabulous luncheon with traditional dancing and were entertained by a mentalist/magician. She had a party in the evening for all her friends with a master of ceremonies, a dj, a trivia contest with 25 gifts, lots of finger food, a pizza truck, and later an ice cream truck! 4 of her friends slept over after the party.
By the way, all three of her dresses were gorgeous! Photos will be forthcoming.
She has never been happier!

She is a pretty girl. I notice her big eyes, and I was reading large pupils are a sign of high intelligence. I am glad it all went well, and as Marie said, looking forward to the photos. How did she like the pearls?

A great sounding ceremony. Looks like some of your rituals are almost as elaborate as we have.
Ice Cream and Pizza Truck make me feel longing for these two things !!

She's more beautiful, every time I see her:) Now the $6million dollar question, how did she like the string of pearls?

@kobesbuddy You were right!!! I told her we will have a talk on what to wear them with - even a sweatshirt! lol. Her dad knows how much they cost and told her to treat them with kid gloves. She can have them forever.

@DianneN Your younger son didn't think she'd appreciate the pearls, but I felt she would!

First of all your grand daughter is too cute and congratulations to her and have a Great life ahead.
Girls are gift of God and when they become a woman they gets another milestone achieved for what god has made them. A woman THE CREATOR.
From a baby girl to a woman and as a woman so many roles of making everyone's life happier than ever before. Be it a daughter, wife, mother, sister and it goes on and on..
It has always been a debatable question of the world that who is more important or superior a woman or a man.. But to comprise it being an Indian i would say we have saying in our Mythology "Yatra Naryastu Pujyanyte, Ramante Tatra Devata" meaning where women are worshipped, there gods rejoice.
A men may make house but it is a Women who makes it worth living..
God bless your Grand Daughter..
