Magnolia flower

I took a picture of one of the flowers on my Magnolia tree. For some reason; whenever I take a picture of something white; it does not come out very good. Since I am using a new digital camera; I still need to figure out a few things out. One of my uncle's planted the Magnolia tree back in 1955. He finally got to see the tree again in late 2019 when he came back for a visit.

What is the scientific name of.that Magnolia tree?

I would have to look that up. I have always heard it called Magnolia tree and nothing else.

@Scrapper88 thanks! I have some Magnolia species right here but it is a rare hardwood tree.
