Cristiano Ronaldo, pushed aside two bottles of Coke placed on the table before holding up a bottle of water. We all seeing it on TVs. Immediately the stock prices of the beverage brand dropped 1.6 percent. Approximately Coca Cola loses $4 billion. How did you guys see this one? How does Coke will tackle it now?

Welcome to myLot! I read about that yesterday. I applaud him, however it’s not good for the organization or Coke.

Nice observation. Nobody can blame Ronaldo for that. These aerated drinks are not healthy. Water is ideal preference for sportsman like him.

Yes it's healthy and basic need for all. Popular one's like him making a point on media tend to create awareness to some extent. But this guy is popular all over the world. Does it really makes the difference this time. I'm just curious something good should come out from this one.

@sarees No. Lot of celebrities advised against consumption of aerated drinks but their sales continue its upward trend.

He is a person who has a high power to influence. I also don't like coke and avoid as much as possible for my family to drink any kind of soda.

Well he just do it especially for the health of every human being which is better and it is proven that sodas are not healthy but it is the people's choice what they really like, for the company of coke,it is a minus for the sales because people might want a healthy lifestyle but not because of what the player really show but the choices they want to take.

No I didn't see that. But water is better for you than carbinated, sugar filled drinks.

Nah, people will forget about this soon enough. Ronaldo and Coca-Cola are big enough names to continue on their own.

It is a minor snub, but the effects will be short lived.

@myklj999 I agree 100%. Besides, it's a nearly $240 billion company. I hate to say $4 billion is a drop in the bucket. But it kind of is.
