That's what Mom said. I'm pretty sure it just a spark before the fan that they used in the living room 'rest in peace' as I didn't see any fire. Nonetheless, the fan can no longer be used.
I've trying looking for a replacement on Shopee since morning. I found a tall fan. The brand is well known here. I hope this one will last longer than it's predecessor.

I hope the last fan did serve you long enough for the price you paid for it. And hope that the new one arrives soon and serves you well.Tough to stay without a fan in summer.

@prinzcy Good that it served well before dying out. Sometimes these devices get overworked and if there are regular power fluctuations, it can damage them.

I concluded the engine of the fan must malfunction,or the wire may be short-circuit,guess it's not easy to repair.Whatever, you are looking for substitute.good luck.

Glad no fire! So needed, a nice fan for summer. AC would be best, but too expensive. Today's news, everything backlogged too, parts, the ac itself, and it's more expensive now too.

@oahuwriter more like air circulating holes. Even for modern houses, they would install bricks that are specially design to encourage air circulation.

fans seems to have either a very long life, or they go fast.

@prinzcy that is very true - we do what we do! sometimes we have to do things that are at best boring! getting a fan? Boring!

Things will become useless after a while and we need to replace them. It is better to change it and safer.
