I read a news item that new sapling will be planted by every newly wedded couple. In a village in India, the head of the village devised a novel way to inspire others towards maintaining greenery. The village body laid a rule that whosoever gets married, the couple will plant a sapling in front of his house before going for their first baby and newly wedded couple have started implementing the new unwritten rule.
The idea seems very bright to me. What is your take on it?

@prinzcy - Indeed it is a bright idea to plant sapling like it. It will help the environment. Although you question regarding divorce is a hypothetical question, yet possibility of divorce is always there. I think the other family members will take care of the plant, in case of divorce. And by the time they get divorced, plant would have grown up, probably.

@prinzcy
In this case the one who lives in that place should keep taking care of the plant.

That is a wonderful idea and so glad that people in the village came up with such a thoughtful idea. Similar practices should be welcomed elsewhere too.

Yes, it seems a bright idea and it should be implemented as much as possible and wherever it is possible to implement. In Metropolitan cities there is space crunch and land is not available, therefore, it gets difficult to plant new trees over there.

@dpk262006 Unplanned urbanization...
But still we can have innovative ideas to make a city more green.

Yes, those who are still unmarried and get to see that news or get to see this discussion, should plant a sapling, when they get married.

Yes, I fully agree with you that others should also follow this practice of planting a sapling, on their marriage. The plant will keep reminding them about their marriage and how it grew and how they spent the married life.
PS - You could adopt this practice, when you get marrried.

@CuriousGab It is good to hear that you have already planted many plants in your garden and some of them have grown up and have become fruit bearing trees. . The main thing is availability of land, if one has land then one must plant new plants and trees.

No need to go that far.
I already have planted many plants in my garden and many of them have gone very high.
They even provide shadow and fruits now
They are big trees now.
But still I keep planting as I like it and we have enough space for that.
Recently we planted many mango trees
