Do first, read later

I'm not the type to read the instruction first. Well sometimes I do. But most of the times I just try, fail and then I read the instruction manual.
The fan arrived yesterday. I assembled it straight away. Then I found a part was missing. I searched here and there but couldn't find it. Then I read the instruction manual and found out the missing part was a part of the lower part. I need to open the cap, pulled it out and then put the cap back on (it got hole to put through)
Silly me.
If I just read first it would save me all the trouble of thinking where it was missing. Luckily I am not the type to attack the seller as well. That would be more embarrassing.

I had a teacher back in HS that gave a test and said to read the instructions completely before answering the questions. In the instructions he wrote "Do not answer any questions on the test." Many people started filling in the answers. They all failed.
Instructions are important for proper assembly and trouble shooting. It saves going back later.

No. Hahah
If it's complex, yes. Only after I gave it a try ;)

I usually read the instructions first before working on something.

@prinzcy I'd like to think that I am but there are times that I'm not.

Sometimes we like more to figure things out on our own than reading instruction first

I don't like to have to re-assemble something so I do it step-by-step, according to the manual.

It was always better to read the instructions before starting any work if given. I remember during my college days I did a folly. One of the question was compulsory but I didn't read the instruction and didn't attempt it that was the biggest mistake otherwise I could have got the highest marks if had attempted that question. So it's always important to read the instructions.

It happens with me as well, I read the instructions first sometimes but just ignore sometimes. Glad that you read
