That We Are Here By Itself Has Meaning and Purpose

Like almost all, I do wonder what I am here for.
We are taught to make a living in a competitive world. The learning for that is pretty long compared to other species – takes almost one third of our lives. Then the work life that is more than one third and retirement, the balance period.
Then we have family and society to set SOP, a la popular acronym Standard Operating Procedure. We are supposed to fall in line or face the consequences of a deviant path.
We can get obsessed with survival here, but is that all in life? I do wonder from time to time; am I missing something? I am mostly reacting to the circumstances to find a safe haven and trying to protect it.
Why does our creator want us to experience life here, walking us through the stages, and then total recall not in any order?
I cannot decipher any deeper meaning frankly, though I keep that at the back of my mind as I go through the rigmarole of life here.
I would love to hear your take on this perennial question for humankind.

We are here to search for happiness. I was thought of the wisdom and the plan of salvation of God. And that's the three basic life's questions answered.
First, from where we come from? Second, why we are here? And last where we are going after this life.

That is my big question also..no answer for it.
Besides what we may think, what is the purpose of our being here that the Creator wants?

@RebeccasFarm I can understand as those who are like that, and stick with that approach, seem to enjoy their carefree days.

We all touch so many other lives in ways we don’t even realize and that may be why we are here for the unknown good we do.

I have known a few quite intimately for years apart from my parents, siblings, close relatives.
Many are no more but I still feel their presence all the time as if we are still communicating telepathically like in our dreams. That serves to reassure me what am doing is right.
Then again we are part of the humongous creative process and we can punch above our weight too in our own way.

It is the searching for meaning, the very search itself, that gives our lives meaning.
It is a carrot that God gives to us, and it's pinned onto the Donkey's tale, so we are always chasing our own tale.
Even at the end of our lives, if the carrot remains attached to our tail, we have lived a pretty sorry tale then, and learnt nothing but chased our tale.
We need to unpin the carrot from our tale and attach it to our God-given gifts, and pursue those in our lives instead.
When we fulfil our own gifts, we find the meaning of life for ourselves then too.
Each person's meaning of life is unique to that person.
That is why nobody else's meaning will ever satisfy anyone else, but for themselves.

@Shiva49 Yes, that the Universe continues must be a fact in our favour too. Progress is still being made despite the hiccups.

I like your conclusion.
Many rely on faith to float their boats but then there are many and which is the real deal, if at all there is one. No point in shouting hoarse from roof tops that theirs is the only one.
Our goals and paths matter. I keep in mind that I have to be held to high standards to inspire others; no short cuts for brownie points for me.
When we follow our inner voice, soul, then we can feel our connection to the ultimate source. That makes us embrace diversity - live and let live like God does with his nemesis too!

@innertalks Yes, love and hope burn eternal and we have to live in that ideal with no compromises, the building blocks of life and creation.
I believe there will be a hand extended towards us to welcome us at the other shore. We will soon find our footing like we did here.

Some faiths do believe in reincarnation. I have had no such inkling though.
Then again, if I am born as another species but no idea that I was a human earlier, how does it matter?
I believe time has relevance only to us - so we can be born again eons earlier or later.
Maybe, after all we go through, like in talk shows, it may be revealed who indeed we are and why we went through what we did but that for me is a bit too late.
I keep an open mind about these issues. That there is a mystery involved has a purpose too.

That reminds me of "In Buddhism, desire and ignorance lie at the root of suffering. By desire, Buddhists refer to craving pleasure, material goods, and immortality, all of which are wants that can never be satisfied. As a result, desiring them can only bring suffering."
Then again, it is only natural to strive for a decent standard of living that carries with it difficulties too.

We not only work eat to live but we compete, fight and kill the fellow human beings for wants and not for needs. Fear from the past experiences lead us to be proactive and that's when humans become non-human.I think we need to train our body and mind in the true spirit to live a happy life accepting whatever time brings for us. Peace

We kill to satiate our ego and greed.
Those who initiate wars make sure they are safe while innocents pay the price.
It is time we changed this as this planet is for all to live without borders.
Gandhi said "The world has enough for everyone's needs, but not everyone's greed,"

Well, there is so much to learn despite of our mistakes against each other. It's a natural order for us to survive, but we hope to be better than animals.

I do keep searching for a deeper meaning.
I am not one to be satisfied with repetitive rituals followed down the generations and hearsay.
I have seen the hypocrisy by paying lip service to such pursuits.
We need to delve deeper into our inner conscience and become a seeker of truth.
