Do cats have bad dreams? Kitty has been unusually "needy" this morning.

Kitty woke me up this morning by jumping on my bed and pawing my face. She doesn't usually do that. We had a major purr fest, and then she lay down next to me. But she was still restless and demanded I pet her to sleep.
When I got out of bed, she followed me around the house. I fed her and gave her a couple more purr fests, but she continued to follow me around, giving me deep looks that I'm not sure how to interpret.
Now she's asleep at my feet.
Do cats have bad dreams? They look so satisfied when they're asleep. Could she have dreamed that the Big Blue Monster gobbled me up?

I think kitty might have had a bad dream and wanted some reassurance that all is well with the world.

I believe that they do have bad dreams and other things that stress them out. Henry comes to me for hugs at least once or twice a day upon waking up from a nap.

@TheHorse Henry awakened me this morning by touching my face with his paw and chewing on my hair.

Cats do have fears and possibly bad dreams. I know that Chilly is extra lovable and clingy after a thunderstorm, especially if that storm sends him under the bed for a time.
