No, this picture is not of MY scrambled eggs. But my eggs will be delicious. Sometimes you just need something simple for dinner. So, scrambled eggs it is. I will make these eggs with some cut up ham, some yellow bell pepper, and onions. I will also toss in a healthy helping of shredded cheese. I think I am going to make some fries on the side since I don't have any hash browns or tater tots handy. I know this seems like an odd meal for a Friday night when we could have sprung for some take out or even went out to eat. But, this is such a cheap meal, and it is actually delicious. It just makes sense. I like to drizzle a little bit of ketchup on my eggs. Do you like ketchup on scrambled eggs? What's going on YOUR plate tonight?

We have scrambled eggs quite often and always enjoy them. It's a cheap meal but also tasty.

Very cheap. Not sure what you pay for a dozen eggs down under, but here it's under $1, so always a very economical meal, even when I add things to the batch.

@porwest Well, you won't consider it a cheap meal if I tell you they're around $5-6 a dozen here but it's all relative. Compared to meat dishes, they're cheap.

@JudyEv That's highway robbery. lol. Even the meat here would be cheaper technically. I get pork typically for $1.99 per pound, chicken averages about 99 cents per pound to $1.99 per pound depending on the cut. Fish and beef are higher and the priciest. But damn. Those are some expensive eggs. For that amount I'd stop eating them. lol

That sounds good, until you said pepper and onions! Fries on the side? Well, that sounds good too. I had finger steaks & fries...definitely not a cheap meal lol

I know. Anytime I say I added anything that adds flavor to a dish, you puke.

@MommyOfEli2013 So, for you, at least in the case of onions, it's the texture more than the taste?

I don't eat eggs if I can physically taste them. I like to bake with them, though or use them as a binder when cooking. And, I'll admit, it's kind of fun breaking them out of their shells. Not afraid of a little mess. As for what we're eating, I don't know.

Eggs are one of those foods for me that just never fail to satisfy. I like them almost any way they are cooked.

@LindaOHio When I was a kid I loved pancakes, ESPECIALLY blueberry ones. I can't tell you the last time I ate a pancake. And even if I order any now, it's pigs in a blanket.

Cheese on eggs is delicious. For my scrambled batches I always put some in. And of course, an omelet without cheese should be illegal.

@CarolDM I can't ever get enough of cheese. I like all kinds and can eat it all day long. I do have to be careful though. It can also bind me up.

Scrambled eggs is always a good idea. You can throw whatever you want in it to suit your taste. On a 24-hour fast so no dinner for meal. I had mu lunch and that is it until 1:00pm tomorrow.

I always tend to make a loaded scrambled egg with lots of goodies in them. Plain is good too. But with extras is always just better.

Sometimes the simplest meals hit the spot. Nope, no ketchup on my eggs . . . I had a friend who liked ketchup and soy sauce on her eggs. Our dinner is baked salmon and artichokes tonight!

Now, soy sauce on my eggs I will skip. But ketchup? Oh yeah. Bring it. And sometimes salsa. It's just good eats where I come from.

Nothing wrong with a spud either. If it is a loaded one, even better.

I agree. That's a very pleasant looking plate of eggs. Unfortunately, it's just something I stole off the Internet. My own pictures of my own actual plated eggs which I have posted in previous egg related posts do no justice. lol

I recently bought some expensive free range eggs and the yolks were orange red. I love them. Every once in a while I also love breakfast for dinner.
