I can no longer use Firefox to search the internet. Any ideas about what I can do?

I believe I pay Norton a monthly or yearly fee to protect me from internet scammers.
Over the past few days, when I try to do an internet search using Firefox, my default browser, I am thrown into something called "Norton Safe Search."
When I enter something benign, like "hot naked Russian women" (actually, "baseball scores"), I get the same menu again and can proceed no further.
I am now using Google Chrome for my internet searches.
Any idea what might have happened? Has anything like this ever happened to you? I have no idea how to actually contact Norton and have my Firefox reactivated.

@Tampa_girl7 As one MyLotter suggested, I'm going to try a reboot before anything else.

Norton surely turned on the "Norton Safe Search", that you can turn off in your Firefox browser.
Get full instruction here
Always turn on the Norton safe web feature to be aware of the websites that are displayed in your search engine. Based on the site safety status, you can decide on whether to access the website.

I use microsoft edge for everything now that they've improved accessibility with screen reader support. I was using chrome, but unless I use a touch screen or mouse, I can't browse sites like mylot. I stopped using firefox a while ago, because it was crashing and had little-to-no screen reader support.

That's weird. Chrome, Safari are your best bets. I've heard Internet Explorer will be gone by the end of the summer. No idea. Not that I know of, other than the typical rainbow spinning ball or crashes. No problems with searches. You can go to Norton's website and contact them about it like with the help or contact us links that's down below.

Could this be some sort of malware that's causing this? Maybe Norton itself has nothing to do with this.

@TheHorse Hopefully, that is not the case. Were you able to sort this issue out?

@TheHorse That sucks. I only use Chrome. I don't have Firefox. I do have Microsoft Edge but I rarely use it.

Do you shut down your computer when not in use or do you just let it sleep? Maybe a reboot might fix things.

I've not used Firefox in years. I use mostly chrome these days. I've no idea why it's doing what it now is for you.

I would say Norton is telling you it is not an area to go into. I have something else now for anti-virus and it is really good. it is E-set and when does not like something will have a box saying block or something else that can use it. How did you get Norton in the first place and how do you deal with then if have problems? I have my technician that I contact if problems with anti-virus.
