I'm having a hard time setting up smart control for appliances

I have this gadget from tplink. I need to set it up on my smartphone and have it paired with the smart gadget. It should recognized our home wifi. But that's the problem. The gadget can't seem to pair up or connect to our WiFi.
Its my first time to do this smart set up. Well i have this like cctv camera . It can't detect our wifi also so Istill can't use it also.

Yes there's tutorial. I understand it now. Bit hard work. It's the first time to learn about the things I have read in how to enable my WiFi for smart control.
Quite confusing at first. Need to check some tutorials on YouTube. It helped. I have not done it yet. Because doing so will open my all gadgets connected to my home WiFi open to vulnerabilities to attacks
So I'm thinking if I could manage the risk before I do this. And if there are files on my computer and cellphones that I need to protect
