Yesterday l told my wife l would give her a rest & l would cook dinner for us. I was really pleased with the result even she praised it. I have not really been eating well for the past year but l had a good helping & we finished what was left it was so delicious.
It was so simple to make l thought l would share this with you too.
I prepared all the ingredients first. Chopped a bunch of spring onions, half a yellow, red & green bell pepper & a bag of frozen prawns. Put them in a colander to rinse then gently cooked the in butter in a wok with some salt & black pepper to taste. Once cooed l put them in a dish to the side for step two.Whilst l was doing this l had put spaghetti in in a pan of hot water to cook.
Step two. I used a block of soft garlic herb cheese straight into the wok. It was too dense to melt on its own so l added a little milk which helped turn it into a nice creamy sauce. I added the coked prawns & veg then rinsed the spaghetti to get rid of excess starch then popped that into the wok to coat in all the creamy sauce & mixed veg & prawns.
I served it into two bowls & sprinkled chopped parsley on top. I called my wife to say dinner was ready. Oh my goodness it tasted so good almost up to a really good restaurant standard.
My wife is still raving about it today so l am pleased she enjoyed it.
Do give it a try you will love it. You could always use chicken l guess but having gone off meat l used prawns instead.

That's nice. I thought I made a fantastic dinner yesterday, too, but my gut told me in no uncertain terms in the middle of the night that I didn't.
Not intentinally, of course, but I did, so I've been taking it easy today. What happened is that I pulled some potatoes from my garden for my dinner. One had...

The ingredients say it all. Even a good for nothing chef could produce something delicious with all those ingredients. But I am sure you are a good cook and so that must have been a dish of all dishes

I would need chicken in place of the shrimp since I'm allergic to them but the rest of your dinner sounds delicious! I'm glad you both enjoyed it.

And you didn't invite me?????
My favorite main course is shrimp scampi on linguini!! Yours is similar but I prefer a clear garlic & oil sauce.

That was so nice of you to give your wife a break and good dinner for the two of you. What is very nice that she enjoyed it. I have not made spaghetti in ages. I like to make it with garlic bread or meatballs and garlic bread but one day will make it again. Now, I have chicken I made for a few Sabbath meals. Sorry, I am sure it was very good but I do not get hungry looking at food these days and glad you enjoyed it too and gobbled it up.

i am laughing outloud!!!
Many years ago we used to rotate who cooked. One week the kids starting asking for mom to cook more. I didn't think about the why, just said ok.
My wife, was always late from work, ordered pizza or picked up Skyline Chili hot dogs.
she never cooked. I was hoodwinked by children!
