when you pet an animal, take care of it until death.

Disgusting! When people keep an animal as a pet and their love and care towards that animal is as long as the animal is fit and fine, the day when the animal got sick, they kick the animal out of their house.
Very very disappointed
I am neither one of them. I do not like to pet any animal nor I like be cruel to any living being.
Today morning an incidence took place in my neighbor and this discussion is the result of the incidence....
What your thoughts on this matter ?

What you said is very true and I feel that this sort of behavior is found mostly in India. They love them, feed them, play with them till they are fit and fine.... Once their health deteriorates they kick them out leaving them to die on their own. But I feel now the mentality has changed towards better.
People are learning. But its hard to educate people with such vast population. Very tough job.

@PurnaSharma need to educate pet owners. Else they have no right to handle pets. Also vets are very rare in the country, not as much as needed.

@S4mmyboy Your country doesn't even have as many people doctors as are needed. Or as many hospitals as are needed, either. There is something wrong in your government. I hope that gets fixed, too.

I'm sorry that happened...
Sometimes, the pet needs more care, money-wise, than the people can pay. When that happens here, the pet is given to an agency that takes care of it, pays it's hospital bills and then finds it a new home. Or, puts the animal to sleep so it is no longer in pain.
I'm not saying that's what happened in that case, just suggesting what might have happened.

@PurnaSharma Yes, it's sad to see how some people "care" for their pets. The people who live on one side of us "babysit" their son's dog when he's away from his home for work. They take good care of him. The family on the other side of us have two dogs and a cat. The dogs are scared of their own shadows and the cat prowls the neighborhood, killing the young rabbits that hop into our yard. I've run the cat off several times when it kills the rabbits. (The rabbits aren't pets. They're born wild and just like my shaded yard.)
Picture is of part of my yard.
