Fell asleep while watching a movie

It was a bit after 11 pm and hubby decided to watch a movie called Monster Hunter. I thought it'd be interesting so agreed to it, even though it was late.
We had tea, turnovers, and cheese when we started the movie. When we finished eating, we went to the couch. I purposely did not lie down so as not to fall asleep. I sat down and just leaned against the back of the couch.
For a while everything was fine but then I must have dozed off because I looked at the TV and had no idea what happened previously. I continued watching but then I dozed off again. I was in and out more than a few times. I wonder why.
The movie was interesting. And I didn't really feel tired or sleepy. Maybe the couch is to blame. It's too comfy.
I was a little bummed that this happened but at least it was a free movie. Maybe I will rewatch it at some point.
Does that ever happen to you?

@LadyDuck That's the thing. When I started watching the movie I did not feel sleepy or exhausted.

I can understand if I fall asleep because the movie is boring. This movie wasn't boring or slow.

Lots of times, Back in Latvia we had a TV by our bed and attached to a video, Many nights we would insert a video and watch it until we fell asleep,

The same thing happens to me in my recliner. If I recline back, I'm guaranteed to be asleep in a matter of minutes. If I'm sitting on the couch, I'm fine, but if I lay down on the couch, I'll eventually doze off.

@lovebuglena I pretty much slept that way the entire month I had Covid. I hurt so bad all over that the only way I could sleep was sitting up on the couch.

This time I didn't lie down on the couch. I decided to sit but lean back against the back of the couch. Though that would prevent me from dozing off. No such luck.

Happened to me a lot of times. I just rewind the movie and go back to the last part that I remember before dozing off.

@lovebuglena I guess you need to rest up rather than watch a movie.

I was recently watching something and dozed off. I rewound what I was watching but then I dozed off again and had to rewind again. Decided I wasn't going to keep doing that and will watch at a different time.

Yes I even did so in the movie theatre. The name of the movie is Jurassic Park III not the latest one but the older series.

There were a few times where I dozed off at the movies. That's a no-no to me. If I am spending a lot of money to go see a movie I do not want to fall asleep or doze off.

Why is that? I hate when it happens to me, especially if I am at the movie theater or if I rented a movie to watch on demand.

Happens to me all the time
I think it is just being comfy and your body being relaxed

I think maybe it's the lateness that does this. I don't remember dozing off during a movie if watched it during the day.

All of the time. The mind and body relax and we tend to drift off.

Then I guess if you are ever having a hard time falling asleep you should turn on the tv.
