Weekend is finally here. Yay. Not that there's anything to look forward to as we're still stuck at home anyways , but I'm happy regardless.
Been spending some time today reading some articles online and came across one that mentioned about the complexity of individuals.
You. Me. Everyone.
We are who we are because of the influence of different factors. One thing that I found interesting is that one of these factors is media consumption. And it's a HUGE factor. Like it or not, we are what we read, watch, and listen to.
What do you consider as the biggest influence for you? How has the media influenced you to be who you are, if at all?

@cahaya1983 When I read a "fact" I search different sources, some are still serious sources.

@LadyDuck I'm also very careful about my news sources. I read both the mainstream and the alternatives.

Good to know that, Anna. Although there is also the challenge of differentiating fact from fiction these days.

But I really think it depends on what type of media exposure we get. I'm very choosy about what I read or watch, or even the pages I follow on social media.

@cahaya1983 i think it depends to ourselve, if we can filter what's good and what's not for us, then we'll be fine

True, and that's usually a challenge for many people because they tend to believe whatever's being fed to them.

I can't stand not knowing what's happening around me but I'm very choosy about the sources.

Hmm... I don't know. I don't watch the news or read the newspapers. Sometimes @xander6464 annoys me by talking about Trump or some of his other political buddies but I pay as little attention as I can and still have a good conversation with him. (Usually about something other than what his topic was about. )
I love watching science videos on YouTube and often tell others here on myLot, mostly pony, about those videos...

I don't think the media influences me too much. I do get mad however, about the people who won't get the Covid shot.lunacy, and so uncaring if you ask me.

I consider my upbringing the greatest influence in my life. My family is tightly knit and we used to celebrate occasions together. Most important in what binds us is our faith in the Almighty.

Yes I have to admit that upbringing is often a huge factor. I think for most people that's where they learn values and principles that they carry throughout their lives.

Good for you! I don't think media influence is 100% bad though, it really depends on the sources that we choose to access.
