An interesting meme I saw recently re: teachers

After the Parkland high school massacre (and hundreds of others) GOP lawmakers and citizens suddenly thought it would be a good idea for teachers to be armed. Even that awful Secretary of Education Betsy de Vos supported it and said that teachers might need shotguns to protect from wild bears. Um. Okay. 
I was furious about the whole idea. I signed up to teach NOT do security. I could go on and on about all of my arguments against it but that is another post for another day. Suffice to say I have always said that I will QUIT MY JOB before being forced to carry a gun at work. Not happening!
Anyway the meme I saw said "The same people who would trust teachers with guns in the classroom don't trust them with a history book." I thought that was very well said.
Hmmmmm teachers unskilled with guns in classrooms or teachers discussing American history? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Haha, yeah its the we only make points to benefit our side. That is another problem right there. Why are you on a side if we all in this together?
To your point about armed teachers, think teaching pays better but bet you would have more fun in military. Our company parties are off the hook. They let you spike the punch or did in my day hell, even hearing military is not allowing a lot of what they used to because people so crazy in general and they end up in military. Making the pentagon restructure their whole system of who they let in military. Do to right wing radicals.
