I did not sleep well last night. I was perhaps worrying about my sister. Her heart rate was only 35 yesterday afternoon. In the hospital they have her heart rate up some. She saw a cardiac team of four doctors today. The team is recommending a pacemaker. Tomorrow her regular cardiologist will see her and will decide if she will have a pace maker or pace maker defibrillator. I guess she has some kind of an arrhythmia. I only talked to her on the phone. After my eye doctor appointment tomorrow Bob and I will head to the hospital to see her. My image is Angel. Sleeping on a keyboard. Right now it is her favorite spot.

Angel looks lovely, I suppose the keyboard is warm, cats love warm spots. I hope your sister will feel better, I can understand that you are stressed.

@GardenGerty If surgery went well the arm swelling should resolve soon.

@GardenGerty I am very sorry about your sister. I hope she gets what is best for her. I can also imagine my cat sleeping like that too.

She is, and she is tiny for an adult cat. I think this is a good move for her health and quality of life.

What would a defibrillator do for her?

At the heart rate of 35, I would think that they need to do an emergency operation to provide her with a pacemaker. From there, it will be constant monitoring and that it needed to be change once every few years.

I think she will get the pacemaker. My husband has a pacemaker/defibrillator. They say it lasts around 9-10 years before you change it. His communicates with his doctor over the internet all the time.

Sounds like she is in good hands. I would worry too. Glad you will be able to visit her tomorrow. Angel is adorable and comfy.

I think she should have had a hospital referral sooner than this. She has had trouble with her heart rate for a while.

I hope the doctors will get everything figured out soon. I know it isn't fun for her being stuck in the hospital unsure of what they will do.

I think she does not mind as much because her daughter is visiting. It is also a relief for her that they are figuring out what to do for her.

I think she maybe should have been talking to her heart doctor this last month. Her primary has just been adjusting her meds, etc.

Angel looks very comfortable on the keyboard. At least something is being done about your sister.

Cats just make themselves comfortable. I feel good about my sister perhaps getting a pacemaker, and she does too.
