Just received word that our son’s girlfriend was offered her dream job!
She graduated law school last year with a concentration in Family Health and has been studying for the bar exam.
Not wanting to practice law as a lawyer, she applied for a job where her law credentials were required. After multiple interviews, she was offered a wonderful job this morning!
We are all so excited and ultra happy for her!
Hopefully, it won’t interfere with their vacation next month to Oregon and Washington for hiking, doughnut eating, and beach fun.

Thanks so much!
They just completed a climbing hike on the edge of a cliff. My son told us they had to walk on a 1 foot ledge which disappeared and pull themselves up on metal brackets knocked into the rock to hoist themselves 12 feet to the top. He had her heavy backpack and the rock curved backwards. He was shaking with fear and told her he never ever will do a climbing hike again. She understood. That’s a gem!

That's great. and I am sure she will be happy..Why would she go to law school if she did not want to become a lawyer? Are you saying she doesn't want to do that until she passes the bar or what? (Since practicing law without a license is illegal) I know of someone who couldn't seem to pass her bar exam..to save her soul..although she had 4 years of law school. I think she ended up working for the govt. in some capacity.

She decided being a lawyer wasn’t what she wanted to be, but loved learning about law. She decided not to take the bar. She is not going to be practicing law, so it being illegal is a moot point. She’s using her knowledge in her field of interest. My son and DIL passed the bars on their first try. They are very difficult from what I’ve heard.

Yay! Congrats to her and to your son! What state is she taking the bar in? It is a chore no matter where you take it really, but quite an accomplishment to pass!

Thanks! She has been studying for the Connecticut bar, but the bar system may go national. She decided not to take the bar until the national one comes out. Maybe. Right now, she can use her background in law in her new career.
To brag, my son passed the New York Bar first try, and his wife passed both the New York and Connecticut Bars first try. Too many lawyers in the family.

Congratulations to her! I sure hope the dream job doesn't mean a move that will keep her separated from your son for long periods of time.
