Thanks for humoring me yesterday with the song that nobody knows. Today’s song on the list of songs that reference other songs’ titles in them is a big hit, and a big favorite of mine. My mom loved this song, too. And here it is, for your dining and dancing pleasure. #2: Walk of Life - Dire Straits This doesn’t mention a song, it recites a Ray Charles discography! Okay, Ray Charles didn’t do “Be-Bop-A-Lula,” that was Gene Vincent. But “What’d I Say” and “I’ve Got a Woman” are both Ray Charles standards. And yes, I’ve used this terrific Dire Straits song before. And yes, I’ll use it again. It’s on my 100 favorites list. One of the great songs of the 80s.
