While I DO AGREE with them that the Republicans' "attempt to destroy the people's voting-capability" is bad ...
If a majority of citizens TRUST the people of a party that backs such bills, aren't those bills 'the very democracy you're claiming to protect'?

--------------How would you know that a majority of Texans support the GOP if everyone isn't allowed to vote? All the evidence says, in fact, that the opposite is true. If the majority supported the Party, they wouldn't need voter suppression and yet Texas is the hardest state to vote in.
The truth is that the Republicans are a tiny minority Party that's scrambling to hold onto power in any way possible.

Oh really? Are THEY the ones running away from the vote?
And how did the few Democrats get into office? That brings up a post I'm planning to do, asking whether everyone OUGHT to vote---if it's more important that you "do your job" during the only time that the polls are open, maybe it's better if you 'do your job' and leave the voting for the people who CARE who's in office!

@mythociate I'm resisting the urge to point out how ridiculous you are and I'm proud of myself because I'm doing a great job.
Yes, a few Democrats were elected in Texas because Republicans don't do anything right (This is one of the cases where their incompetence actually helps) and Voter Suppression is failing.
It is not more important to "do your job" than to vote. Voting is far more important.
About the running away...it was the only way the Democrats could stop the passage of even more and worse voter suppression laws. If you were correct anything, there would be no running away because the Republicans would have no need to keep people from voting.

@xander6464 If voting is so important, why don't employers PAY their employees to go do it?

Republicains and democrats have always hated each other. Politics is just become a childish game to them.

Not exactly.
It's like if a lot of people in your office thought it was better to stand upright, while others thought it was best to crawl on all fours. The office probably works for either way, and there's nothing WRONG with doing it either way (when you can).
