I know getting older brings new aches and pains but tomorrow I am going for my first cataract operation.
I have to be at the doctors by 6am. My second operation will be 2 weeks from then. I can say I am not a morning person, so, that alone makes me not to happy but the whole idea of someone playing around with my eyes, really has me worried.
I have a few friends that had this done and said it was a piece of cake. That didn't help me much. Any advice from anyone that had this?

@CuriousGab I have never had any real problems with my eyes but did start wearing glasses in my 30's. I just turned 79 so I really don't need the new ones to last as long.

I was worse all night waiting for this day and the day was easy. Have to go back tomorrow so the doc can check the progress and then in a few weeks have to go back for the other eye.
Good luck with yours also. I am amazed how I can see colors better everywhere.

I was shocked how easy it was today. The worst thing is being home and not being able to bend over to pick anything up. I am hyper and always jumping around so I had to slow down today when we got home. We go back tomorrow for a check up. I was so shocked how packed the place was and we were there at 6am.

I'd be scared to let anyone mess with my eyes. My greatest fear is going blind.
I hope things go well for you.

@ramapo17 I've been having trouble driving at night or in the rain. I can't see the lines on the roads anymore if it's dark or raining. I always hope there's a car in front of me I can follow to stay in my lane. I was driving home from work last night and missed my turn-off because I couldn't see where the road was, so had to drive the long way home.

@DaddyEvil I am a person that would only go to the doctors for a serious issue. I cannot believe how great this is. I keep walking around the house finding things I didn't know were that color. I think my most surprise is my cockatiels colors and his bird cage and all the colorful toys in it.
I wonder how many clothes I wore that didn't match, hahahaha.

That is the way I have always been also but the time came that I was having big trouble seeing and knew I had to have something done. Both my husband and I researched it and talked to so many people that had it done. I couldn't drive any more and thought if anything happened to my husband, I would have to drive.
I couldn't believe how easy it was and not pain at all.
I cannot bend over to pick things up yet so the blood doesn't rush to my head but when I put the tv on when we got home I saw colors on it that I never knew was there. The one thing that helped me was knowing many that have had it and was successful. Plus it was only one eye. They only do one at a time.

I have not needed this, but have known others who did. I can only recall positive remarks about the results but I will say it is okay to be a little put off by it. We will pray for you and hope you do well.

Just realize that worrying about something you cannot control will be harmful. Ask God for courage and His help to make the operation a success.

Good luck for the surgery. These days most people are affected with eye diseases even at younger age
