I guess it depends on the culture, but in the USA definitely!! My son will be taught to do everything for himself. One day his wife will thank me. ;)

I think that whether boys learned to cook or not, when the time comes that they realize the value of good nutrition, they would cook without hesitation. I´m not against fast food or restaurants but in general, a homemade food prepared with gusto and fresh ingredienst are the best for a quality meal and good nutrition, and good nutrition means good health.

boys should really learn how to cook because when they go to foreign universities for studies they should know how to cook because i dont like food provided by those hostel people

I agree, they should at least know how to cook. They will need it when they grow up. I am not syaing that they have to do it every night but what about when they move out on their own? Or when they get married if their wife falls ill or has a baby or is gone for a night or 2? They should at least have basic knowledge!

Yes, people NEED to know how to cook. I don't like cooking unless it is food that is easy to cook. Spending all day in the kitchen making thanksgiving dinner would be a nightmare for me, but knowing how to make basic stuff like scrambled eggs or pasta is something that everyone should know.

i thinks it's important i got i have 3 children all boys and i teach them how to cook so when they get older they dont have to depend on a woman to do everything for them.

I think everyone should learn to cook. I think that everyone should just be self-sufficent in general and since everyone needs to feed themselves, they might as well learn how to cook.

My husband does about 50% of the cooking in my house and it helps me out a lot, especially since we have two small children. I guess it's what you're comfortable with in your own house. I think everything should be split 50/50 when it comes to the household chores so that one spouse doesn't feel overwhelmed or get stuck with all the work. It works in my house, but to each his own, I guess.

I think that chores in the household should be split up evenly among the whole family. Both boys and girls should be taught how to do all the chores throuhgout the household. In my family growing up (3 boys and 5 girls) we all took turns and rotated the chores. It is important to have an equal share in the family.

Yes, definitely! But we can´t force everyone, that´s clear. If a boy shows interest in it, let him learn. I think too that parents have the power to show their sons the proper way of cooking especially hygiene in preparing food - whatever recipe - in the proper age and in a playful manner that they enjoy it. He would find his calling on it, who knows.

I have always raised my boys to fend for themselves. I don't want their wife to have to do everything for them, like it used to be in old days. My boys cook, clean, do their own laundry (most of the time), and before they leave the house I will make sure they know to do a budget, balance a checkbook, and pay bills. I want their marriages to be a 50/50 one.

A lot of guys are just lazy (like me) and just like grabbing food and eating it without worrying about making a mess and turning on the stove and washing dishes. This is a bad quality to have because that is why most americans are fat.

For me, both girls and boys should be taught how to cook. I believe they'd appreciate their food more if they helped in cooking it.
Cooking is also a skill I'm sure they'd be thankful they have when they grow up and leave on their own. And for boys, they could impress a girl by cooking for her. It could help him get that "YES" that he's been yearning to hear from her.
And after all, boys eat too. They can read recipe books too. So why shouldn't they be taught how to cook?

i think that cooking should not be restricted to any gender. its all about survival and learning to fend for your self. in this day and age, learning to live by yourself is a necessity. you would not survive in the real world if you did not know how to feed yourself. you cannot always eat in fast foods or depend on others to cook for you. you should be self-reliant and learning how to cook is a good start. it doesnt matter if your a girl or a boy. i am going to teach my son how to cook when he grows up.

at first ladies should learn to cook..................you know one thing in all hotels or any thing like that the cooks are gents not ladies.........
