Long Lockdown

I didn't think the Covid-19 pandemic here could be worse than India some time ago. After the long Eid holiday, the number of Covid-19 transmissions increased rapidly. This forced the government to implement a long lockdown. Normally the lockdown lasts up to 14 days. But here for almost a full month without a break, even the plan will be extended for another 2 months if the situation worsens. I hope this doesn't happen because it could exacerbate the already shaky economic condition of this country. Hope everything gets better soon, please pray....

So sorry to hear that news. The same here happened many months ago when we had a surge last April to May which prompted us to do lockdowns as hospitals got overwhelmed with patients coming. So far now we have somewhat recovered from that surge but with the Delta Virus looming in our place, the hospitals are bracing now for another surge which can happen anytime when protocols are loosened to give way for the economy to start moving again.

@Babale Stay safe and hopefully, your place will normalize once things are stopped or locked down. This is the only way the virus will have a hard time transferring from one body to another. Maintain cleanliness in your body every time you go out.

News reports say your country is currently the epicenter of the pandemia. The delta variant is really highly transmissible. Just follow protocol and plan your shelter-in-place activities for the long lockdown. Economize. Budget your meals. Plant some veggies in your yard.

@Babale Yay! Even before the end of the lockdown, you can harvest leaves for your meals. I have three varieties of spinach (rooted in bottles originally), and now, I sautee these nutritious green leaves for lunch.

@eileenleyva The problem is that in my house there is not enough space for gardening. Can it be grown in pots or other media besides soil?

So sorry for such news. All I can say is stay safe at all times. My prayer goes to those that have lost their loved one in this pendemic, may God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Looks like the delta variant has spread widely in all countries without exception. The problem is that vaccinations are going very slowly and I'm the only one who hasn't had the vaccine in my family. Very long queue.
