Oratio Imperata

Raining cats and dogs again this morning. A bit chilly in my basement of a dining room turned workplace. Relieved the downpour came after I got home from delivering my daughter back to the hospital. Otherwise I would have been stuck in some fuel station cold and uneasy. The moist on the car windows obscured my vision. Was concerned about the motorbikes that zigzag the roads and cuts without warning. Can't blame the riders. Nobody wants to get soaked. Been more than an hour now and the rain has no sign of stopping. Am sure the lower places down the valley are already flooded. Checked the news and saw how Zhengzhou, Henan in China became a water pool yesterday. The people got stuck in trains with water up to the waist. A horrible scene seeing people and cars floating. As with Mumbai in India. The mudslides that claimed many lives are heart wrenching. I googled the Oratio Imperata right away. We need to pray.

Pretty much deluge from all over the world. What we have in our place is just minuscule compared to other areas reported. I also heard floodings around the city but it was not that much. The rains still pour from my place today. I hope they would stop draining the waters in some areas flooded. Although I am enjoying the cool temperatures now I am a bit concerned about the floods in other places.

@eileenleyva True I am just fortunate that I am WFH so I am at the comfort of my home the whole day and enjoying the cool breeze from outside. I also receive that NDRRMC warning today which is supposed to be a warning for yesterday.

@rsa101 Stay home. The rains are still flooding places. Relatives and friends are posting their dire conditions with waters inside the home. Sigh.

Coastal huts did receive a beating. Manila had knee-deep waters. I have not checked my vicinity but am going out in a while. Enjoyed the chill, too. First time I slept wrapped with a blanket up to the neck. Let's hope the typhoons do not get any stronger. By the way, the NDRRMMC warning came a day late. Just for the record.

Yes it is rain creating havoc all over the world from Asia to Europe to America. It is relentless in its destruction all over. We have been facing heavy rains for last more than a fortnight. Thankfully no flooding problem except for some minor incidents.

Unprecedented rainfall in those continents as well as Africa. Been raining in Nigeria for days now also. South America's Mexico, clips show, is sinking with apocalyptic-like footages of the waters. That leaves Australia and Antarctica. Hope those two continents are flood free.

@msdivkar Climate change is indeed upon us. What gargantuan mistake man has committed against our mother earth! The glaciers are gone and the polar bears are almost extinct. The oceans are rising. My islands here in the Pacific could really be in danger of being erased from the map.

@eileenleyva I agree with you fully. Rich nations blame smaller countries for carbon emissions while they themselves are biggest culprits.

Rain is a way of life. We're still getting some on and off after a nasty thunderstorm.

Not when the flood waters destroy the high-tech drainage system that is Netherlands' and Germany's.

Here in Delhi it's not raining much. Hope it rains here too but to a limit as that creates traffic jams as bikers used to stand on the road under the flyovers .

That's a good prayer. Ask only for a moderate amount of rain. Torrential rains are out of the equation. Too much volume of water could cause not only traffic but also flood and illnesses.

@sjvg1976 Doubly difficult for the people already embattled by the CoViD-19. The pandemia has been far too long. Sometimes, I just pray it's gone today. Here and now.

Since Monday it's been gloomy and raining. The other night the rain is heavy with some winds. It made me feel relax but a little depress too. So it's been raining in other parts of the world too. Today not a bit of sunshine showed up

Yup. The wet season is upon us. Time to stock up on soup. Rain could be depressing but try to shift the mind and look at rain as lemon drops from the sky.

Take all measures necessary for a rainy day. Mumbai mudslides yielded 30 casualties.

Our good God is so angry with us. Here's what's happening other side of the globe.
Dozens of wildfires in the western United States and Canada, led by a massive blaze in Oregon, are sending smoke eastward, worsening air quality. #News #Reut...
