Life is a Balancing Act

Life has always been a balancing act not only for us. It is a survival of the fittest, smartest, and the practical minded.
Every child is born an open book and we soon fill its mind with data. It has to adjust to the reality around it. We are in a way better placed as other species have to run for their lives soon after they take their first breath! We have more time in hand though some are at the receiving end of our worst reality like being born in a war zone.
We have made progress scientifically but that does not translate to peace and happiness. In fact, I feel sick in the pit of my stomach reading news headlines! There is hardly anything uplifting. I have to brush them aside from memory remembering only the very basics. The news, views and interviews are at best contradictory and at worst out to catch eyeballs.
Okay, that is the reality of the day and everyone has choices how to take evasive action. Mostly, I look after myself and then help others to the extent possible as most are like me feeling helpless.
Just grin and bear it may be what the doctor ordered for our sanity. To top it all, an invisible enemy is lurking with us arming ourselves with jabs and all with more to come it looks like. It is like we can run but cannot hide.
Then not forgetting the real heroes who make it all worthwhile for us to look forward to another day with hope. They make the mission impossible, possible. There is an underlying pointer in all the mess – we reap what we sow and that is the best reward in creation.
How do you face up to the challenges and do you think we will be back to a better environment soon?

Yes, life is a balancing act in some ways. However, no matter how balanced, wise or rich, we can't escape a building that suddenly collapses and smashes people into a pizza, a lightning bolt that strikes and shocks the life out us us, a subway that suddenly floods and drowns us and so on. We never know what tomorrow may bring!

@kanuck1 I think we have a tendency to dump misfortunes on our creator but take credit for lucky breaks that come our way. I have seen people asking for compensation saying not their fault, but acts of God!
I would say we are not only being ungrateful but also point accusing fingers even at our creator.
And this phrase has been par for the course for so long.

Very true, if we don't maintain the balance properly our life will become a complete blunder.

I don't take challenges easily as I am always scared of taking risks in my life. I naver had a good luck so whatever I have done I have done that with my hardwork.
Yes life is balancing act and Darwin's theory of survival for the fittest is true.

Your approach applies to me too.
I never look for challenges but rise to the occasion through hard work and sincerity of purpose.
I give my best and move on without regrets.
Yes, life is a balancing act and we need to please many along our way not losing our heads in the process!

@anya12adwi I had meant an overall living environment, condition, with us rising in our awareness to do what is right.
I feel there are enough inputs for us to rise higher by doing what is right.

This post reminds me of the quote
Life is like riding a bicycle. In order to keep your balance you must keep moving.

@rainbowsalt Yes, thanks. If we know what we are doing, I guess we can create our own rules.

@innertalks Rightly said there are exceptions to every rule and we can create our own rules.

@Shiva49 we humans can survive and endure under adverse and unusual circumstances, that's how we are made.
knowing that we all are going through a really tough phase,we are going to stay strong and fight back
going through difficult times and evolving back stronger is what makes us humans right.

This virus is hard to bring under control.
Looks like a many-headed hydra - slay one, another appears.
It is taking a while and we are held to ransom by an unseen, tiniest, enemy.
We have enough weapons to kill all many times over but they are of no use now!
If this will not make us pause and ponder, then another more potent dose may be needed.
I think that is built in the creative process.
We are busy putting out the fire in our back and front yard forgetting other issues in a way!

I take each day as it comes and hope each day will be better than the day before. I’m hoping for a better new normal, especially now that the unvaccinated are running scared, dying off, or realizing that they should have gotten vaccinated months ago.

It looks like this virus needs unity of purpose to tackle it.
We have drifted far apart and we need to gather our forces than look the other way.
Funnily enough, the country from where this originated has closed its doors fearing the import of this back to its supposed safe haven!

I can only hope for better times soon. But it will be up to all of us . . . to problem solve and be able to navigate through the obstacles. If only all of us were on the same page, but unfortunate it is not that way, and that makes it difficult.

If life is a balancing act, what are we balancing on, and how do we learn to balance ourselves with life?
We are always balancing on love's bridge, that takes us into God.
We need to learn to balance ourselves on this bridge, by our developing a give and take attitude of inner and outer flexibility. We need to not go overboard in anything, but keep to the path of love, on its narrow bridge, as provided to us by God, as much as we can.
As soon as we go off balance, we will fall off of this narrow bridge, and will then need to try to climb back onto it again, and usually, we need to ask God, or others, to help us to do just that.

@Shiva49 Yes, the UK are laughing at the virus now, and I hope it doesn't come back to bite them with the last laugh.

The issue is most have, to varying degrees, an attitude - let me enjoy myself and I will "tackle" God later like I did the reality here.
This virus "means business" and should not be trifled with. Maybe, the devil is trying to score some "brownie points" as he knows God will receive with both hands those he managed to give short shrift, premature closure, here - to go with kicking them upstairs!.
Hatred seems to spring eternal with love in the background playing second fiddle. We need to get our priorities right with some bruised egos et al.

@innertalks There are seasons in a year and also changes over longer periods of time in nature and the species in existence.
Then the pandemics like the plague, Spanish flu, shook us and made us run for cover. I think these are balancing forces in the creative process that stretches eons. What will be the future 100 years down the line is not at all predictable though there are a few futurologists giving out their reports from time to time with claims of I told you so when things seem to align with their projections while keeping mum when they misfire.
Countries with freedom and democracy written all over them struggle now and there is the UK where it is life as normal despite the spike in cases which could be the highest in the world by comparison.
We are yet to come to terms with this virus and at times it looks like the blind men deciphering an elephant!

Well said Sir....life is all about balancing.
It is a survival of the fittest, smartest, and the practical minded.
In the current times it is only the smartest survive, else you are left far behind. But no matter how smart, how practical minded we are, one day we have to leave this world.
Whatever time we spend here, instead of greed, lust for supremacy, anger, hatred, if we spread peace, love and harmony how wonderful our life would be... but this would only remain a dream.

Thank you, hope we can make our dreams come true.
We can all do our part however insignificant it may look now.
It could turn out as the reverse of the straw that broke the camel's back - the one act that was needed to convert our dreams into reality.
Anger, revenge, negativeness will not serve any useful purpose. They only show our weaknesses, insecurities, to pull back those ahead than striving to get ahead through own efforts.
We need to see humanity as one and all from the same source. Unless we accept that basic, we are stuck at the starting block of understanding what life is about and what is needed to reverse our path to extinction.
