However, the video is so freaking hilarious it almost made up for the band breaking their own rule.
This video was controversial? Seriously? Someone on this planet isn’t used to seeing British guys in drag??! Dang, grow up and watch some Monty Python will ya! 
(Actually, the video is more a send-up of the long running soap opera Coronation Street.)

This was the 1st Queen video I ever saw! I've heard that MTV banned it, but I saw it on good ol' Friday Night Videos in the middle of the night on NBC. We were rural and didn't have MTV anyway.
