Chronic Boredom

Hilary Jacobs Hendel, a psychotherapist, suggests several reasons why a person can reach the stage of chronic boredom. For example, avoiding emotions felt as a result of a traumatic experience. Finally, the sufferer feels nothing and feels bored for a long time in his life.
In addition, chronic boredom can also be due to avoiding problems too mush and not looking for new things to enjoy. What does boredom have to do with it ? Well, the absence of that kind of stimulus makes us lose interest in life even more.

My parents used to say if you're bored, you're a boring person.
Then they would find chores for me to do.
I learned to never tell them if I was bored.

My point was that if you're bored in a world with so many things to do, the problem lies within.
Some people are unable to motivate themselves. They might just be lazy.

I think it's true, the key is motivation. Depends on us and the ability and establishment that we have to generate self-motivation.

Life itself can be full of boring things to do.
Eating can be a drudge, as can exercising, or even going for a walk, shopping; anything can be boring.
I think if we connect a part of our life to a greater meaning, we will not be so bored then either.
Otherwise, we fall into the thinking that nothing has meaning, nothing interests us, and all is boring.
If we can spark a connection to something, boredom will usually disappear.
If, we want a healthier body, we need to exercise, so think of the results, rather than the boring drudgery of doing exercise.
Why do we feel bored sometimes?
A life alive in the love for that life does not become bored whatever the person living it is doing, so to get out from boredom, start loving life more, for what it is, not for what you want it to be, less boring for you.

I am having a struggle with myself and chronic boredom. I am a single mother and I have no people or family to help me in any way. So I dedicate myself to work a lot to earn some money and take care of the house and my children every day. Life is passing me by without realizing it. I feel that my life is only for work and that it is as if I do not deserve full happiness.

@Lindcurtins I do not like to feel like that, I am usually a positive woman and I seek to see the beauty of life, but there are times when it is inevitable to feel overwhelmed.

I find it confusing why a person gets bored when he avoids problems. Will you explain it?

There's so much thing to do, boredom wouldn't creep in.
