Hilsa fish looks like this.

Many friends asked to me to post a photo of Hilsa fish. It is called ilish in Bengali. It is the national fish of country Bangladesh and state fish of State of West Bengal in India. The fish is very costly around Rs 1000 per kg, but in the monsoon among all the river fishes hilsa tastes the best with a lot of omega oil.

Thanks Rakski first the fish is fried in mustard oil or other oil. Then mustard powder, spices and green chillies are given. then water is given to convert it into curry. It is called sarse bata bhape.
