Many friends asked to me to post a photo of Hilsa fish. It is called ilish in Bengali. It is the national fish of country Bangladesh and state fish of State of West Bengal in India. The fish is very costly around Rs 1000 per kg, but in the monsoon among all the river fishes hilsa tastes the best with a lot of omega oil.

This fish is delicious when fried or cooked in vinegar.
