Hello Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! (if it's already Friday where you are, at least.)
I'm just enjoying a little bit of me time right now, so I thought I'd pop in here for a bit. Kids managed to complete their lessons before noon today, which is a good thing, which also means I could prepare lunch earlier. We're having a nice Friday weather over here, so the kids will probably be off to the park later in the afternoon.
One time they were at the park, they got to meet this cute sun conure in the picture, or I guess what many of us call sun parakeet. Just look at those colours! We still don't know where it came from but the bird was so friendly it even landed on their shoulders! There was another one too and they seemed to be happily wandering around the park that day. I read thay they're known to be one of the most playful, lively and very inquisitive bird species.
Do you see this bird often where you live? Or have you had a happy encounter with any special creatures lately?

We just came out of a nationwide lockdown actually. Our community park is open but still no contact sports are allowed. My eldest still can't go to soccer practice. You can walk, or jog, or ride the bicycle, but that's pretty much it.

@sol_cee Yeah we're fortunate. I hope there won't be another lockdown. It's frustrating.

@cahaya1983 I have seen a blue parakeet a few days ago, it surely escaped from an apartment.

@LadyDuck Oh wow, I've never seen a blue one. I read that domesticated birds can have a hard time surviving outside, I hope the parakeet is okay!

That's really nice. I see many sparrows and zebra doves daily but this sun parakeet is very rare, and yes very beautiful!

That is a very pretty bird. I've never seen one like it.
The only creatures I usually see are the bunnies and squirrels playing in my back yard. We can see them through our kitchen window. I love watching them play.

@DaddyEvil Our neighbour has 12 cats. We have at least half of them hanging around in our front porch on a daily basis

@cahaya1983 We have lots of both around here. And as long as we keep the neighbor's cat out of our yard, they love playing here.

Yes I think the last time I saw the sun parakeet was at the bird park. Very rare to see them around here.

Pretty bird! At town library, next to Iolani Palace grounds where green beans parrot family visits I noticed them one day years back. They're still in town. Evening, they'll fly home to their roost making such a chatter. Now I go to my neighborhood library, when open, so I only see them on occasion now when in town.
Another bird story if a zebra dove, I saw in Marukai, yesterday, as I shopped. Poor thing looked so forlorn, I prayed for it to find it's way back outside.

Oh yes they are quite chatty aren't they .
We see zebra doves pretty often here actually. I actually had never thought about it but now that you mentioned it, they do tend to have that sad look on their faces.

Are they crows? There are many crows here but I haven't seen any in my neighbourhood. I don't like them at all.

I live in the Pacific Northwest of the US and see many birds and animals but I'd give about anything to see such beautiful birds. I have had Sparrows and Finches eat seed from my hands but it would be fascinating to see those up close.
It's 10:46pm Thursday here lol.
