Gift for teacher

It’s the end of the academic year and in primary school, many pupils like to give their teacher a little leaving gift. Of course the problem is what to get. Some give a bottle of wine or chocolates, but you don’t want to inundate a teacher with chocolate especially in this hot weather when they have been brought into a hot classroom! There’s a limit to how many ‘Best Teacher’ mugs or ornaments any teacher could want, and for a man especially things like flowers or scented things tend not to be considered as options so often. So Little One and I decided that a gnome would be as good a gift as any - it would be unique and hopefully would make him smile and show she had gone to some trouble to make him something special. Here is the result - apparently Teacher did smile, and named him ‘Bob’. Maybe he will brighten up his desk for a while. All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2021.

That's a very cute gnome and I'm sure the teacher appreciated the effort gone to.

Apparently it did make him laugh. I wonder if he will keep 'Bob' as a mascot on his desk?

No I don't think Little One needs to worry that any one else will have given the same gift!

Your teacher is going to appreciate it very much. I am a person who treasures the things that give me even a stone. Small details go big.

Classes ended here last July 10 but no gifts because mostly its virtual classes and students never had the chance to meet their teachers.

Virtual school is useful but not the same as the 'real thing'. I think the children have learned to value their teachers more after the absence!
