Earthquake Woke Me Up

It certainly was a different alarm clock that woke me up early this morning. I felt my bed shaking and even though it woke me up, at the same time, I felt being lulled back to sleep.
I was still sleepy but I grabbed my phone to verify if it was indeed an earthquake. True enough, it was. the hashtag #EarthquakePH was trending. The earthquake details are in the photo I provide. It was a 6.7 closer to its epicenter in Calatagan, Batangas. A province south of Manila. Considering I felt it while here at my parent's home, my room is at the third floor, I imagined the earthquake would have been more prominent if I was staying in any of my two condominiums units. One is mid-rise while one is considered high rise. Those would have taken the 'shakes' to a different level... figuratively and literally.
Anyway, more news will likely come in as the day progresses. Stay safe especially to the Filipino mylotters living closer to the area.

Yikes, an earthquake that strong would scare the heck out of me..We had one here in 2011 that was smaller than that and it was quite frightening. I really hated the aftershocks one time it happened while we were in bed, and it was a scary feeling. I felt very vulnerable.

I hope shaking was all that happened! Please be careful.
I was going to tease you that your snoring is what really woke you, but an earthquake is scary, so no teasing right now.

@allen0187 I tend to use humor when something bad is happening. A lot of people think I'm strange because of it. *shrug*

@allen0187 Yes, it is... and a very good one, too. Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.

It happened at 4:49am today. So I'm guessing a lot of people were awaken by these jolts.

@florelway true. So it is a relief that there were damages. If it was stronger or if it happened in a populated area, then there is a possibility of greater damage.

@allen0187 Well since it happened very early in the morning the panic did not set in immediately I just calmly woke my wife then we observed. The second wave I think was a bit longer but it was not as strong as the first one.

I had the same experience! I was sleeping earlier when all of a sudden I felt some shaking on my bed. It took me some seconds to realize that I am not dreaming and that it is an earthquake. I hope you and your family are safe.
