Maybe I'm not Famous Enough to Understand the 'Trauma-Force' Loaded into ''The N-Word''

Watching the latest broadcast of NIGHTLINE, I saw a story about a country-music star who was practically BARRED from the Country Music Hall of Fame because he got caught--on a night-out with friends--calling 'someone' (another one of his friends, possibly) a 'p___ a__ n_____.' Did he get called-out for the P-word? The A-word? Any of the other words he might've got caught using? Not so much as for the ONE WORD he had to go to a 30-day therapy-session to absolve himself from (except for the general damper those other words put on the context). The NIGHTLINE-interviewer really 'got onto him' for that word: "Do you understand the pain that that word brings? That it was a word used by whites to refer to their African slaves? That it's been a word racists have called people before they-injured them or -sometimes even killed them?"
