You can't be great at DAY 1!

I mean, who gets all on Day 1?
When I was hired in my current job, a portion of the interview is, of course, me asking my boss what is his expectations from me.
I thought he would say things like, "the usual", I want you to do best everyday or do excellent things for me as you start.
But no, I got a different answer. He said, "Just do what you have to do even if it means not doing your best on day 1. What matter is you know what you did the least on day 1, so you'll improve on day 2 and the coming days."
I was left speechless and realized, he's different from other bosses.
He's a lot more . . . . human.

I agree with you because usually bosses are the terror ones. The one that is with high expectation on his workmate . Was it your first job you were referring to?
