The players who represented Mexico in OLympic softball threw away their uniforms after coming in 4th place. Mind you, they were not favorites to medal in the Olympics. Being in the Olympics is a unique experience that athletes want to remember for a long time, even if they don't win. There is also controversy because the uniforms have the Mexican flag on them--I'm not sure if this is considered disrespecting the flag in their country. The ahletes did opt to pack the bedding and towels from the hotel rooms. "Mexican softball players threw away their uniforms.
The Mexicans were exposed by their own fellow boxers and now they face the public’s outrage and even a possible expulsion.
Mexico’s uniforms were found in plastic bags after the softball team placed fourth at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
One week after the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games began, several controversies have already arisen with regard to the Mexican Delegation, from the poorly embroidered uniforms of the national soccer team, the athlete who took off his mask and broke the sanitary protocols, to the outraged tweets of Paola Espinoza against her diving partners, but now it is the softball players from Mexico who are in the eye of the hurricane due to their uniforms.
"The outrageous images of Mexico’s uniforms belonging to the softball players who came in fourth place and decided to throw away their equipment delivered by the Mexican Olympic Committee spread like wildfire through social networks."

Respect.
It's missing in society today.
Once incidents like this were rare.
Now it's too common and widespread.
Stealing the bedding is another show of disrespect.
This team was a real prize.

I think many of the players were American, but it's still bad because they got to be in the Olympics.

There's another thing. Why are Americans playing for Mexico?

@Vikingswest1 I will have to read it again ,but I think I read they were. It is common for athletes to represent a country of their ancestry, their birth, etc, which might differ from the one they reside in.

I agree. And it doesn’t matter if you were born there or lived there later.
